About ECE Dept.

The Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering was established in the academic year 2006-07 with an annual intake of 60. Since its commencement, the primary objective of the department has been to impart quality education, training and research at the undergraduate levels in Electronics and Communication Engineering with broad emphasis on design aspects of electronic systems.

The intake was increased to 120 from the academic year 2008-09. Five batches of students have graduated so far. The Department is offering two M.Tech courses Digital Electronics & Communication Systems and VLSI (VLSI). The rapid developments in the field of Electronics triggered the inception of  PG programme on VLSI in the year 2011.

The Department has always been on a high growth path to keep pace with the ever increasing importance of the major disciplines of study and current technology trends. A judicious mix of experienced and young faculty with strong commitment to academics has created an ambience for learning.

The Department has sufficient spacious classrooms, well-equipped laboratories with an excellent infrastructure. The department has conducted many technical symposiums under the societies of IETE, ISTE and student association named MICROS (Minds of Innovative Communicative and Resplendent Organizing Society) and also has a close interaction with the alumni where their inputs are being used continuously for the improvement of curriculum.

The Department is headed by Dr. V. Surya Narayana, Professor with vast teaching experience and is ably supported by 11 well-qualified vibrant faculties, which includes Professor, Assistant Professors. Specializations of Faculty cover all major fields like Device electronics, Communications, Signal Processing, Embedded systems and VLSI design.
